STAND UP FOR ZIMBABWE: A GLOBAL CALL TO ACTION 25 MAY 2008 - GHANA

| 1) | ACTIVITY/IES: |
| May 22nd: Collaborate with Civil Society Organisations, and Labour movement (TUC) to hold a mass public forum on Zimbabwe to be addressed by two prominent members from Zimbabwe Lawyers Society and the Zimbabwe Labour Movement This public forum will be extensively publicised through the media using the Ghana Journalist Association and prominent journalists. The two visiting Zimbabweans will be featured on a number of very well patronized radio and TV discussion programmes on Friday ahead of the public forum. Key civil society organisations to be brought on board are: Centre for Democracy and Development Institute of Democratic Governance Institute of Economic Affairs Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice Ghana Bar Association Women organizations. All participating organizations will be encouraged to prepare and present solidarity messages. |

| May 23rd: Seminar at the University of Ghana using the Political Science Department through a student body known as the Forum on African Affairs. Here also there will be very wide publicity and a message of solidarity will be signed by all participants and forwarded to ECOWAS as the position of the student body on the situation. There will also prayers be all mosques | |

| On Sunday, May 25th, the day of Solidarity itself we will arrange with religious bodies - Catholic Bishop's Conference, Pentecostal Council, Evangelical Council, and Christian Council, to dedicate prayers to the struggle of the people of Zimbabwe. Later in the evening, there will be a TV discussions programme “Talking Point”. | |
